Recipe for healthy breakfasts for kids

Banana Oatmeal Breakfast Muffins

Who said muffins were just a dessert? With a simple twist, the muffin is as healthy as wholemeal bread and also looks a lot more inviting than slice of bread.

2 bananas
2 tablespoons rapeseed oil
1 egg
1 cup skimmed milk
100g whole wheat flour
50g lightly cooked rolled oats
25g sugar
2 teaspoons of yeast
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp salt

Set the oven to 200 degrees and line a muffin tin with muffin cups.

In a bowl, mash the bananas with the oil, egg and milk. Put all the dry and mix quickly. Divide the batter into the muffin tins.

Bake the muffins for 15-17 minutes. Check with a cake stick to see if they are cooked through.

For many, oatmeal is a boring breakfast alternative, but with these ingredients, it can suddenly become a favorite.

200 g or 5 dl lightly cooked rolled oats
5 dl of water
5 dl of light milk or H
¼ tsp salt
1 apple
50 g walnuts
Maybe a little sugar

Put everything in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5-6 minutes, until the porridge has become thick enough. Stir occasionally.

Cut the apple into cubes or strips and coarsely chop the walnuts.

Put the porridge in plates and spread the pieces of apple and walnuts on top. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon and possibly sugar.

Oatmeal smoothie

With this recipe, all the glasses will be emptied before the children leave the table.

The smoothie is a real energy bomb that wakes you up in the morning.

4 glasses

400g frozen raspberries or other frozen berries
1 banana
1 dl rolled oats
3 dl apple juice
2 dl Greek yogurt – preferably one with 2% fat and around 8% protein
2 teaspoons liquid honey

Put all the ingredients in a blender and twirl the blades around until you get a smooth smoothie.

Breakfast mix with yogurt and jam

With the right choice of cereals and good berries, this breakfast will be both nutritious and tasty.

½ dl cereal
1 dl Greek yogurt
3–4 slices of banana
2 tablespoons strawberry jam or a few fresh strawberries

Feel free to choose a breakfast cereal that is high in fiber and low in added sugars.

Put the cereal in a glass. Garnish with the yogurt.

Garnish with banana slices and strawberry jam or fresh strawberries.

Banana sticks with yogurt and cereal

This is the coolest breakfast ever that your child is sure to love.

2 sticks

1 banana
2 ice spinners
½ dl Greek yogurt
½ dl cereal
(Ice cream sticks can be purchased at Panduro, among others).

Divide the banana in half. Insert a popsicle into each of the pieces.

If the yogurt is relatively runny, you can dip the bananas in it or you can use the back of a spoon and pull it out.

Put the breakfast cereal on a plate and roll the banana sticks in the mixture.
