The Sjernarøy Education Center started the last day before the Easter holiday with a hearty breakfast, sponsored by the fish farming company Grieg Seafoods.
SJERNARØY: This is the first time that breakfast has been served at the education center, and children from school and kindergarten as well as parents have been invited.
At 08:00 sharp, the teacher Hanne Vasshus was able to welcome to the table, and the rich buffet consisted of healthy and good food. There were even cakes on the table.
The school FAU was responsible for the unveiling and the tables were decorated with candles and yellow Easter napkins.
-It never goes wrong with a good breakfast. A very good initiative, says Ida Landsnes, who was at breakfast with her husband Dan Tandrevoll.
The education center gym started to fill up a bit after fifteen minutes, and eventually it was quite full around the tables when the crowd was good.
“We have low shoulders today, people fall into a coma when they can,” Vasshus told Øyposten.
Good food and good company are a good recipe for starting the Easter holiday off right, she says.
The breakfast program included singing, as well as singing by the students. Since Easter is at the door, there was also an Easter Gospel Bible reading.
In addition to breakfast, all children also received Easter eggs. Also, the Easter bunny came to visit the kindergarten.
The day before, the whole school had taken a city tour and visited both the Children’s Museum, the Oil Museum and the Stavanger Art Museum.
-We want children to be proud of the school they attend, says Hanne Vasshus.
